Curriculum Lead: Mrs R Guinan
Our aim at SS Mary and Michael is to build a DT curriculum which develops creative thinking and design within a defined purpose and tangible outcome. Pupils are taught the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to engage in a process of designing and making. We teach in a range of contexts through our topic-based approach, which allows for cross-curricular links to be made. Through the evaluation of past and present design and technology, pupils develop a critical understanding of its impact on daily life and the wider world.
Progression of Skills and Knowledge
We use the Lancashire National Curriculum Assessment Material documents for our progression of skills and knowledge. We adapt these where necessary to meet the needs of our pupils.
